I’m a graphic designer, a web developer, a gamer, a geek, a hacker and a baker.
I love when simple and clear design comes together with web standards, accessibility, web strategy, and search engine optimization to deliver more than the sum of their parts and help a client achieve their goals.
I love what I do and I have a lot of fun doing it - so much so that I occasionally can’t believe people actually pay me to do this.

New Futures
OmniStudio chose New Futures, a Washington, DC nonprofit that provides post-secondary scholarships to at-risk, low-income youth and young adults, its 2008 ReachOut recipient. New Futures wanted a new website that clearly showed what they do and why it’s important as well as generate donations. The site had to be easy to update, as the New Futures staff are not experienced web developers, it also allows them to use RSS to syndicate their content, and has helped them reach several of their goals.

The Washington Jewish Healing Network wanted a new website that was easier to update than their previous site. They also needed the website to give them a professional image and give them a better way to notify their users of new events and classes.

Local Color wanted a new website that better fit their needs, projected a professional image and had the ability to show off their current and past work. They also wanted it to be easy to update and maintain. The new site, powered by WordPress, helped them achieve their goals and grow their business.

The Altarum Institute wanted a new website that was easy for the public, their members and interested new media to use. It also had to reflect their status as the preeminent provider of objective health systems research while appearing new and fresh

Celebrate Playful City USA
KaBOOM! wanted a series of flash e-cards for their announcement of the 67 cities named “Playful City USA”, a national recognition program honoring cities and towns across the nation committed to taking action for play. The flash features a dynamic city name that is based off the URL and some simple animation as well as a balloon-popping mini-game.

The 0 Project Catalog
A 48-page printed catalog for Rosemary Feit Covey’s The 0 Project. The book features photos of 0 viewings, 0 events, essays from the artist and the curator of the event, quotes from event attendees and other information regarding the project.

Children’s Defense Fund
Children’s Defense Fund was chosen as one of the American Idol charities for 2008 and wanted a temporary micro-site announcing the news with calls to action for people to learn more about the organization, get involved and donate.

Maryland Energy Administration
The Maryland Energy Administration wanted a new website so that Maryland’s citizens and business owners could learn about energy and their options within the state of Maryland. They also wanted easy access to the information on the site, including the state’s energy policy, initiatives, incentives, permit forms and information about the state’s energy summits.

Rosemary Feit Covey
Rosemary Feit Covey, an acclaimed and award-winning Virginia-based artist and printmaker, needed a website that was dynamic, allowed her to feature her new work, show off her body work and protected the site and images. The site how now grown into two sites, with the addition of The 0 Project The site takes full advantage of the power of WordPress MU and delivers news to Facebook, for her followers, via RSS.

The New American Home
The International Builder’s Show, the largest annual light construction show in the world, wanted a new flash-drive website to showcase it’s annual New American Home, which offers real-world demonstrations of the latest concepts in architecture, construction techniques, new products and lifestyle trends. The site features video, photographs, floorplans for the current and most past New American Homes.
